If a display fails to update the system will try to update the display several times before it ends up in the list of displays that are reporting errors.

List of the most common faults and solutions

Failed radio coverage check (RF faults)

The Failed radio coverage check means that the system can’t send new information to the display. The reason for this can either be that the display is out of range of the antenna or the display has a defect/damaged.

Solution: Find the display and make sure it is within coverage. Attempt to “Force Update” the display – if the display still shows the same error delete it from the system and send it in for replacement if it’s under warranty.

Product does not exist

The Breece system product catalog synchronize automatically from the underlying system where product administration is performed. If a product has got a new barcode or doesn’t exist in the in underlying system Breece won’t recognize the product number.

The overview will show the product number that has beed tried utilized. When the product or the barcode is created. The display will automatically be updated and removed from the system failed list.

Soluition: Create the product or barcode in the underlying system and synchromize the system

Low battery

The displays is tested to run for years without changing the battery if it updated maximum 5 times a day. It can happen that a battery fails and is discharged faster than normal. The breece System uses 2-way communication to detect if a display reports low battery. When a display reports low battery it will show on the display with an icon. The displays uses CR2450 batteries. The Displays will function normally in temperatures from 0°C to 40°C.

Soluition:

There are two icon types:

Displayed when the display has low battery. Change the battery.

Displayed when the display is mounted in a cool area below the recommended limit. Move the display to new location where the temperature is in the recommended limit. Wait for the display to warm.

If the display was not in an area below the recommended limit send the display in for replacement.

Display Network/system configuration failure

Every display needs to be enrolled to function with the specific store. If the display fails in this process the display can’t get info from the system and will not show product information.

Soluition:

Place the display under the primary antenna (often marked with a red dot). Try to reconfigure the display from the system overview by right clicking and selecting “Reconfigure”. If the display continues to fail and is under warranty you need to send the display in for a replacement. If it’s not under warranty you need to handle it as electronic waste.

Mounting the diplays on the shelf

The Chroma series have four sises. Chroma 21, Chroma 29, Chroma 42 and Chroma 60. Their operating temperature range is between 0°C to 40°C.

The Aura series have three sizes. Aura 21, Aura 29 and Aura 42. Their operating temperature range is between 0°C to 40°C.

When using the displays in a refrigerator be aware that the tempeture around the cooling elements can be lower than 0°C and can cause the display to malfunction.

Infrastructur

The Dynamic Communicator is the device that communicates with the displays. This happens with radio waves on frequency 868Mhz or 915Mhz. The Device is resilient to interference from other sources such as Bluetooth and WiFi.

The Dynamic Communicator enables 2-way communication between the Breece System and the displays. This means that the system gives the user information on the state of the system. If something goes wrong in the display, product or antenna the user will be notified in the Breece Explorer application.

On startup the indicator flashes constant.

Breece Mobile

A key feature in the Breece System is Breece Mobile. This enables the user to manage all the displays in an easy to use and effective way. Data between the terminal and Breece system is via WiFi or batch.

This means that when you make an action on the terminal it will automatically communicate with the Breece system and make the change on the display.
